recent road and trail conditions
Cape Horn: As of February 1, 2022, the lower portion of the trail is now closed. Thus you can't complete the entire loop. The lower portion of the trail will open again July 16, 2022.
Falls Creek Falls: As of April, 2022, Road 3062 is open to the trailhead. Scheduled to be gated closed again December 2022.
Mt. St. Helens west: As of January 2022, highway 504 is closed to Johnston Ridge Observatory. Starting point for Coldwater Peak/Harry's Ridge and Mt. Margaret.
Mt. St. Helens east: As of January 2022, Road 99 is closed to Windy Ridge. The hikes include Mt. Margaret, Whittier Ridge/Lakes loop, and Plains of Abraham (Windy Ridge trailhead).
Mt. St. Helens south: As of January 2022, Road 83 is closed at the snopark. Thus you can't access the Ape Canyon or June Lake trailheads.
Mt. Adams west: As of January 2022, Road 23 is closed. Hikes include Crystal Lake and Avalanche Valley.
Trapper Creek and Siouxon Creek: As of August 2021, both of these areas are open after previously being closed due to wildfire rehabilitation. Siouxon Creek trailhead has moved about 2 miles downstream from the original, upper, location.
